The third installment in the Grim series, Grim Omens serves as a standalone sequel to Grim Quest. It refines the gameplay established in its predecessors, Grim Quest and Grim Tides, while presenting a complex narrative and intricate lore that intertwines with earlier entries in unexpected manners.
The game draws inspiration from tabletop RPG classics such as Vampire: The Masquerade, The Dark Ages, and Vampire: Bloodlines, as well as the Dungeons & Dragons campaign setting of Ravenloft, particularly the Curse of Strahd.
